What is the programming language most useful for someone who is interested in user interface design?
It depends if you want to design web or thick client (desktop for example) the design. If you do the design office, then I'd probably say C # or VB.NET. They will be much more robust than the old Visual Basic controls and very nice. This assumes that you are targeting Windows. If you need to target both Mac and Windows, Linux and possibly even then I would certainly say Java. The NetBeans platform is a great GUI builder called Matisse that you should check out. If you are the Web user interface design, so I look Laszlo or Flash if you want more pizazz if you are going to spend some time do with JavaScript HTML / CSS.
