Should I go back to school to teach or do the interior?
I am a graduate of the University in May 2005 and earned a BA in art history. For the past year, I worked in sales / marketing. I can look in back to school. I thought about being three things: 1) A teacher of health (I want to answer the questions about online teens problems boyfriend / sex / drugs etc.) 2) A professor of art (one of the reasons I'm an art history major) or 3) an Architect interior (another reason I was a Hist A.. major) The thing is, I'm always drawn floor plans and research in journals and reorganizing my room etc. .. How do I become a teacher or an interior designer if I have a degree? * I would eventually like to have children and want to either work for myself or have a flexible schedule.
Why not teach and do a little interior design on the side? When you ask your children, you can always ask to become part-time for teaching. Accept jobs interior design you have time for it, it would be a great supplemental income. As for how to become a teacher, you should check with a college or university to see what are the rules of your particular state. In some states, you can teach in a particular area if you have your degree in this area. In others, you need to take education courses and pass an initial test. Here in California, teacher certification is a program of 1 year and a test. I took evening classes while I worked as a substitute during the day. It took a semester and a summer my teaching and students is the 2nd half. I have no experience with entering the interior design field, I can not answer this question.
